Done doing these so here they all are in one place! Fully Dressed Redesigns of Superheroines.

Point of this: An exercise in character design, attempting to clothe the heroines nearly all the way and not making them painted-on, while still keeping the look of their original costumes in some way.  Hopefully keeping them looking as iconic as the originally were. Just showing what can be done with a costume breaking outside the barrier of the norm.

NOT the point of this: some moral code I’m trying to push on you

Sorry if there was a character you wanted me to do that I didn’t get to!

I really like these. :)

Personally, I’ve never had a problem with Supergirl wearing a skirt or Wonder Woman showing her legs (in fact I love the Supergirl skirt, as long as it’s not a frilly belt), or etc, but I was really impressed by this.  They really do look very recognizable and keeping to their iconic aesthetic “feel”.  The Vampirella one really impresses me because it looks like it fits her so well, and yet is such a change from what she normally wears.

My only thing would be I’m not sure if the brown pants work on Wonder Woman.  I really love the Supergirl and Power Girl designs. :3

(Credit to sugarfiendgfx for showing me this.)

I kinda love some of these, but not all. I’ve never quite embraced the idea of closing up Power Girl’s boob window, since she’s always owned it, but I do love the almost military styling of her costume here. And I wouldn’t claim that some of these designs are any more practical than the classics, and in some ways less so, but there’s some delightfully deft touches here at seeing how far you can push a design and still have it suitably recognizable.

To say I’m a fan of DC Steampunk would probably be an understatement by this point. Their pictures have been circulating ever since SDCC 2012 and the quality of their work in undeniable. I’ll just let the photos speak for themselves in that department. All of the above photos were taken by Mike Rollerson at SDCC, how flipping fantastic are these? And for convention photos at that? Blown away. You can check him out on his flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/mikerollerson

I was lucky enough to speak to J. Lance, (Scarecrow) about the group, his personal cosplay career and what’s in store for DC Steampunk, (Lance leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger, can’t wait to see the other members!) Hope you all enjoy this insight into a unique and talented group of cosplayers. x
